Had on tap. Very light for a hefe, and thus goes down smooth and easy. Texture is more on the oily and aromatic side of the weiss beer spectrum. Smell and taste has clove, orange, and banana perfume featured, leaving the smell powerful and the taste thin and lingering.

Pours hazy, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is banana, cloves, and wheat bread. Medium bodied, sweet, with moderate carbonation. Makes for a good summer sipper.

(*I think the bottle I had was past its date so that must be taken into account in this review)
Appearance- Pale hazy amber with a very short lived rocky head.
Smell - Clovey banana like nose with wafts of lemon, pretty much as expected.
Taste - Distinctly below average. There is some banana and clove in the flavour but this one is pretty bland and not up to par.
Mouthfeel - It is pretty thin and rather water although smooth too in an odd way. Has a very light drying element to it and some microscopic linger.
Overall - IMO not at all impressive and not the best replication of the style. But I will up date as soon as I know for sure I have a completely fresh one.

330ml bottle from Reilly's, Lisnaskea (£1.79):
Quite a disappointing hefeweizen if I'm honest, this one was too light and thin with an fairly poor appearance as well. Thankfully the taste wasn't a bad one with the banana and cloves flavours seeming pleasant enough but there's plenty of much better wheat beers out there to go for over this one.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2014. Picked up a little while back from a supermarket. The label describes it as a German-style wheat beer with hints of banana, clove and lemon.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A very hazy dark-amber hue with light carbonation and plentiful fine sediment that renders the beer translucent. Yields a smallish head of white foam that lasts for a moment or two before disappearing.
S: Aroma of fruity yeast esters with hints of banana, clove, subtle spice, faint bubblegum, grain, a touch of wheat, earthiness and stewed leaves. The yeast character seems a reasonable approximation for a hefe.
T: Tastes of fruity yeast esters with a lingering dry finish. Notes of banana, clove, dry spice, wheat, grain, earthiness, stewed leaves and a twinge of harsh cardboard. Highly attenuated, followed by a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with very soft carbonation and decent body for the style. Coats the palate and could certainly be livelier. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity yeast esters, mild banana and stewed leaves/cardboard.
O: Meh - nice to see something other than Guinness emerge from the Emerald Isle, however this is a fairly subpar hefe. Lacklustre looks, with low carbonation and a vanishing head. The aroma is OK; not too far off the real thing if not quite as good. The flavour is a tad harsh and the body lacks the effervescent carbonation of a German weissbier. A decent stab at the style but could stand improvement. Worth trying, though don't trouble yourself to hunt it down.

330ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast
Poured a hazy straw yellow. White head poured quite small with tight bubbles then faded very quickly to very light layer.. sparse carbonation bubbles drift slowly to the surface... no lacing...
Aroma - Quite grassy, light juicy fruits (lemons, grapefruits, apples), quite a lot of honey sweetness aroma for a hefe, wet hay notes, some creaminess, light corn notes, very faint clove spiciness, peppery..
Taste - Light, quite watery, juicy fruits (lemons, limes, apples), some creaminess, salty notes, grassy, faint pepperiness, very light sweetness, some banana, light wheatiness, very faint clove, no real hops... maybe all just a little on the bland side..
Feel - Quite smooth and creamy with a just a little bite underneath... light bodied... Very drinkable - would be excellent on a summers day...
Overall - An OK hefe weizen... drinkable but nothing too exciting here...
