A - Golden orange with plenty of streaming carbonation bubbles. A finger and a half of fluffy, white head atop this beautiful looking beer.

S - Very much orange and citrus, earthiness, herbal overtures, with full blown hop aromas.

T - Sweet malts with a fruitiness akin to mandarin oranges, hint of grapefruit, spiciness, sugary dried fruit, Chinese herbs, and the pine-like hops right up there, releasing their waves of bitterness.

MF - Light -medium bodied with quite a decent amount of carbonation which works out in its favor, allowing the beer to impart it hopiness and sweet flavors.

O - Probably the best IPA brewed in Ireland, certainly beating the Hophead (which is a locally produced go-to of mine). I was actually quite pleased with this one! Nice one Franciscan Well!

Dirty blonde with loose white froth that goes fast but trails well and quite a few clingy tiny bubbles. Nose is straight fresh Cascade orange.
Maybe some papaya on buttered whole wheat toast but this is all about fresh herbal piney citrus hops.
Sprucey end and a gently bitter Seville pith linger. Medium, some chew, soft.

I almost forgot what fresh hops taste like, waiting for IPAs from America to get to Ireland. Pale color and low carbonation didn't have my hopes up, but this is a total winner. Very much US, in spite of Admiral bittering and Marris Otter.

Probably the best fresh hop ale on the island. I hope it stays that way for export!

Poured into a Fuller's half pint glass
No. 360 - 1L flip-top bottle
Best before: 3/2013

A: I like the 1L flip-top presentation here - no too often you can get an IPA in this size, but well done! Golden yellow. Half (soft bubbly white) fingernail head on medium pour.

S: Loads of hops, hint of pine, and nice malt sweetness. More solid hop earthiness and well-rounded touch of bitterness at the end.

T: Burst of hops up-front followed by touch of pine and citrus. Smooth bitter finish. Hop character is so nice and full on this beer - not in your face, but solid start to finish.

M: Medium body with even carbonation.

O: This beer has a very distinct and smooth balance of earthy hops and sweet maltiness. The bitter finish is very nice as well. I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical about this one, but it is quite solid at the end of the day. If you want to try it though, get after it quickly as there were only 1,000 bottles made.
