Gargoyles gone wild? Those bastards were meant to protect the city. Instead, they started to tear Chicago apart. Fortunately, Crasher fired up his jet packs and flew in to sing them a love song. For 2018, we decided to age Undead Party Crasher in high-end bourbon barrels with vanilla beans added for a unique twist.

Bottle to snifter. Bottled 05/18/18. 19-1/2 months.

LOOK: mostly black, with a hint of brown in the pour. cola. medium off white head, fades quick. low retention.
AROMA: vanilla is prominent here and is pleasant. melds well with roasted malt and a hint of whiskey.
TASTE: vanilla and whiskey fade way tot he back. heavy roasted malt, a tad too bitter, jump to the front.
FEEL: mostly full bodied. low carbonation but spot on for style.

Look - dark dark dark!
Smell - had a very good stout smell - chocolate note front
Taste - i'm underwhelmed, its good but not very wide in the pallet of flavors
Feel - For a good high ABV stout I expected it to be more rich and thick, its a bit watery
Overall - yes this tastes good, no doubt. But it doesn't have a taste that makes it somewhat unique.

Let this one warm up! Bourbon and vanilla upfront in nose, with subtle smoke and malts in background. Taste has nice roasted malt matrix for the vanilla, bourbon, hint of rye, coffee, marshmallow and charred wood chips to weave into. Feel is smooth, cool and medium bodied.

Bottled 7 months ago. Poured at 50ish degrees into a tulip glass. The look is near-black with a thin tan head.

The nose is chocolate, maple syrup, roast, and red and black licorice, and the taste is similar. Dark chocolate and roast, with a vibrant, semi-sweet red fruit note.

The mouthfeel is medium. Starts hefty and thins out a touch on the backend, when the barrel character comes out.

Overall, very good. Balanced and deceptive at 10.5%. 4.25/5

Another excellent tribute to Chicago from Clown Shoes, this time minus the coffee from the 2017 release. Still rich and chocolatey, with the vanilla playing second fiddle to the fudgy notes until the beer warms a bit. Missing some of the almond notes from previous iterations, but still very good.

Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a near black body with some lacing. Nose of chocolate, dark roasted malt, and hints of vanilla. Taste mirrors nose with the vanilla coming forward more in the middle and through the finish. Very nice feel and overall, a real nice BBA stout from Windsor, VT. Cheers!

Surprisingly clear around the edges, leaning toward cola tones. Good head production and retention.

Tons of vanilla and bourbon on the nose. Brown sugar, oak, and coffee round out the profile.

Really smooth on the palate. Deep, dark, nutty, and sweet. Bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate.

Really smooth on the palate; insanely drinkable.
