Appearance: Very similar to regular 12 dog, coal dark with slight reddish/purple ting where the light seeps through in the corners. Minimal head as expected.
Nose: Dark chocolate, coffee, slight coconut right out the tap with an increasing odor at the beer warms. Not as strong as I was hoping for, but very pleasant.
Taste: Follows the nose. Deep roasted coffee and chocolate with the coconut adding to the experience rather than overpowering it.
Mouthfeel: Thick and chewy. Not Abraxas thick, but enough so that nobody is chugging this stuff.
Overall: The updated Twelve Dog at the new brewery was a wonderful update over the previous one, and this coconut addition has done nothing be add another fine dimension to a solid stout. I'll be hoping to see this in bottles instead of taproom only.
