2012 winter seasonal. The house blonde ale, fortified with raspberries, and memories of frozen youth-oriented experiences thrust thusly unto my very consciousness.
This pint appears a glassy medium ruddy amber hue, with a thin cap of creamy ecru head, which leaves a few reaching arcs of somewhat relevant lace around the glass as it duly settles.
The aroma is of sweet grainy malt, betraying the underlying blonde ale roots, with a slight acidic raspberry fruit twinge. The taste is again rather true to form - mild tart raspberry, a slight cloyingness, and a bit of somewhat sweet pale malt, with a drying earthy hoppiness lurking about as well.
The bubbles are average, the body medium-light, and just a bit too zingy to be considered dead smooth. It finishes a bit fruity, but still well in the bounds of agreeable blonde ale-dom.
A decent enough fruit ale; otherwise, there isn't really anything else really going on, so, we're left with a kind of weak-ass blonde ale, somewhat enhanced by the raspberry after effects, so, good for them. Drink your fill at the brewpub, as the effect is well, and unfortunately dulled quickly thereafter.
