Muddled dark brown, very wood-like in fact, with a very thin tan blanket leaving only wisps behind on the surface.
Aggressive wood and mild pine are met by solid caramel and toffee threads that provide a nice sweetness to balance out the bitter oak and booze well.

Crowler from the brewery. Clear, dark amber, small beige bubbly head. Malty aroma, big caramel and toffee note, kind of sweet. Taste is more of the big sweet malts, with some dark fruity flavors in there too. Mostly a big malt bomb though.

Served in 12oz goblet at the new Aslan Depot. This powerhouse of a Barleywine had the classic darkness of the style. The scent from the barrel was impressive, but not overwhelming. same on the tongue. The excellent base beer was strong enough to stand up to the intense barrel flavors. The body was full, smooth, and rich. Drinkability was amazing, I'll be getting more. A must try if you see it.

10 oz pour- from Growler Guys- Pours dark Ruby red to brown with little head. Aroma is pecan, nutty, oak, malt. The taste is intense, Sherry like, oak vanilla, toffee, caramel, complex and massive. Good, glad it's only 10 oz though.
