Brewed specifically for the Washington Bottle Shop Collaboration Project, this IPA features a grouping of hops rarely used together: Warrior, Denali, Citra, Styrian Wolf & Galaxy. Just like the uniqueness of the BCP, the collective ingredients of this IPA is greater than the sum of its parts.

Poured from a mini-growler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of pale and mildly caramel malt, citrus and lightly dank hops, orange and grapefruit; fairly standard West Coast IPA profile. Flavor follows, with pale, lightly caramel malt, citrus and dank hops that are alpha oil forward, some dry meadow grass and floral notes, citrus rind developing into a finish with interesting herbal character, rind and hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. A solid, hop forward IPA; the hops really do fit the description of "hops rarely used to together…greater than the sum of its parts". There are some odd, but interesting herbal flavors to the hop bill here, but somehow they come together in a satisfying way. Citrus and rind notes in the finish bring the citrus hops back into play at the end. Well done as expected from Boneyard and a good entry into this collaboration project. I like the idea of a bottle shop oriented collective effort by great local breweries and plan to try the future brews. I missed one, but the Fremont and this one were fine.
