Can from Uptown Market.
Jet black with a dark brown head with good retention and lacing this looks solid. The nose is intense, old school imperial stout. Bitter, roasty, mildly ashy, mildly acrid, with diner coffee, a little vanillin, dark chocolate, bitter and potent. It's been a while since I've had such a black patent forward beer. Mildly floral British hop notes. The palate opens bitter and with a lot of dark roast character. Black patent with it's characteristic acrid and mildly ashy bitterness, with a mild burnt sugar bitterness as well. Charred like good diner coffee. The mid palate has some treacle like sweetness, a touch of dark molasses, some dark chocolate, 90+%. Drying, bitter , roasty on the finish, there's lingering bitterness. Medium full in body and softly carbonated.
Quitee excellent, this would age gracefully.
