Pilsner brewed with our friends at Crooked Finger Designs. More American-style Pilsner than traditional with lower IBUs and Callista hops.

Crystal clear pale golden brew with a quick burst of foam in the spiky tumbler. Modest aroma of dry hay. Clean and light, watery and refreshing. Modest bready taste with some herbal hints. There is just a note of lime in the finish. This is quite a light sort of PIlsner, but more flavorful than a standard lager. From the 12 oz can purchased at the beer store up north. Dated 02/08/24.

12oz can pkg on 11/02/23 and served in a pint glass. Straw yellow, mostly clear, light white foam. Flavor has just a little bit of that grassy, tannic taste of Czech hops. Vienna malt is very restrained and the balance is exceptional on account of the low bitterness. However it's still hard to get too excited about.

I can't remember where I had this, I think BeerNV because I don't have any cans of it or cardboard displayed in the ultimate label cave beer cellar.
Pours yellow golden. Average clarity and 1/2" white head. Light note of lemongrass, breadiness going on. Not much in the way of lager yeast noticeable. I'm getting more hop and grain than yeast in the nose.
The taste is right around what I would say is average for a craft pilsner these days. Its serviceable. The twang of hops hits, but is not over the top. The missing link here is the actual taste of a lager. This tastes like an ale with lager like hops in it (Saaz/Noble). And thats fine and all. Its just not exceptional. Token. The mouth feel hits much the same way, could use a drier mouth feel to elevate itself.
I'd definitely be interested in acquiring some cans of this for next summer. Who knows, beers rarely stay around these days, but if it makes it here, I'll give it another whirl.

12oz can
Pours a little over a finger of white head into my Kolsch glass. Retention is average and the head mostly fades within a few minutes. Lacing is good for the most part. Body is pale yellow, crystal clear, with a modest amount of bubbles coming up. Looks pretty nice.
Nose seems noble, bitterness is apparent. Some grass, faint lemon, has a vibrancy to it. Breadiness comes out with time. Smells pretty nice once it opens up.
Flavor has some grassy notes, maybe just slightly earthy. Finishes with a little bread that gets bigger over time. The hops and malts take turns dominating the palate, when all is said and done this finishes very balanced.
Carbonation is medium-high. Body is on the lighter side, but there is some weight to it. Slight sweetness, but finishes clean. Bitterness is medium. Overall this is a nice and balanced mouthfeel.
Drinkability is great.
This takes some time to develop, but once it has a chance to warm it really gets some good depth and character to it. Solid brew.

12 oz can poured into a shaker, from am 6 pack purchased from Safeway in West Salem OR.
$9.99
Very light, crystal clear golden body with a large thick and frothy white head.
Aromas are pleasant, honeyish malts and nice dialed back floral type hopping.
Taste is the same sweet honey malts and a bit of floral hop. Simple, but hops not snappy enough for a true pilsner.
Mouth feel is really nice and easy..but finishes kinda weak.
An OK beer, but to me not a pilsner. More a slightly hoppy American lager.

Look: Clear yellow with a frothy white head that forms a nice 1-finger lid and holds, slowly cratering away and leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Floral hops and lots of them; Hall’s honeysuckle, daylily, and Chinese peony are all in the mix, along with pilsner malt, honey, and soda crackers
Taste: Follows the nose well but both the malt depth and strength of honey-like sweetness seem more prominent. Layers of crackers, bread, and dough all show up and interplay with the floral hops well and closes with a final kiss of honey
Mouthfeel: Light but full, extremely clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and crisp, clean, and slightly dry on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I was pumped to hear these folks had delved into the Pilsner world as they know how to handle hops and I was curious how their take would land. Spoiler alert: It’s good. Checks all the style boxes, well-made, tasty, and refreshing. I’ll definitely be buying more of this in the coming weeks/months

neat beer here, one of those lagers thats both light and sort of heavy at the same time, in a way refreshing but also not as drinkable as some, and this is kind of less european too, although the pils malt seems old worldy, dry and crackery and simple, just with a little more body here than is common somehow. yellow beer not quite clear with a micro bubble white head a little less than an inch high. aroma is unique on the hop side, and without the classic old world lager yeast profile, its more subtle than that, less bready and doughy, more out of the way, less a contributor, which is true in the flavor too. the hops hit on mowed lawn and key lime, nice on top of the simple base, and it does carry some bitterness it seems, this is boneyard after all. i like the hop complexion in the taste, it starts pretty early for the style and runs all the way through the swallow, not overdone but distinct, likely not noble either, low alpha but not irrelevant, herbal, reminds me of ella or something mild like that, but its cool in an otherwise straightforward brew. good proportions but it has a bit of body and a little staying power, so its not quite a summer slammer, but the flavors are unique and the quality is predictably high overall. a little something different here from boneyard.
