Appearance: no fruit accompaniment here. Hazy reddish golden yellow color. One finger head lingers a bit, and some spotty lacing develops.

Smell: very pleasant raspberry aromas leap from the glass. That is the lone dimension picked up by the nose.

Taste: nice wheat base with a load of fresh raspberries. Some hints of spice and mellow bitterness rounds out this refreshing beer.

Mouthfeel: crisp throughout. Raspberry flavors linger around a while after swallowing. Lighter in body.

Drinkability: very refreshing but one big glass will suffice here as the raspberries get a bit tiring. But definitely a nice one glass fruit wheat beer.

Sampled on tap, pours a cloudy orange, much like their other unfiltered beers, with good head. From first look couldnt tell a difference from their hefe, blueberry vanilla, or this. Smell is sweet and malty with raspberry (as it should). Taste is exceptional. The raspberry is a dominate flavor but not overpowering. It is sweet with the raspberry and the wheat/bread-like taste is present as well. Pleasant aftertaste and moderate carbonation leaves a medium mouthfeel. Overall a highly drinkable beer and its neck and neck with their Blueberry Vanilla.

The Chicago Raspberry Wheat begins with Chicago's excellent wheat beer, so it is off to a good start. Then on top of this there is a very strong raspberry flavor which is dominant and fairly blunt. I did not detect any subtleties in this beer, just the overwhelming raspberry flavor. Seems like drinking more than a few of these could give you a massive sugar headache.

It was fairly enjoyable. The lack of subtlety might make it a good beer to wash down dinner with, since you won't be missing much if the food corrupts your palate. It is also fairly light-bodied, making it a good companion to food.

Not a great beer but more than just a gimmick beer. I don't know if there are fruit beer enthusiasts but if there are they will probably find this worth visiting.

Presentation: Mug #9 of #9, imbibed as part of a 4oz Sampler arrangement during a recent visit to the Chicago Brewing Pub in Las Vegas with BA’s UncleJimbo, DukeofEarl and his friend Ozzie.

Listed as Raspberry Wheat, and as a regular house brew.

Appearance: Supremely clear, sharp golden yellow, free of any detritus. Thin wispy white head. Average carbonation levels. Run-of-the-mill appearance.

Smell: Raspberry syrup mixed with sweet red-berried boiled candies.

Taste: Light Lager with Raspberry Milkshake powder overtones.

Mouthfeel: Sherbet like powdered raspberry space dust.

Drinkability: Yuck, I left some of my Sampler.

Overall: It’s for the Girlie’s……nuff said.
