Type: Draft
Glass: 12-oz. snifter
From: Great Basin Brewing Company in Reno, Nev.
Price: $5.00
Purchased: Oct. 31, 2014
Consumed: Oct. 31, 2014
Misc.: N/A
Poured a golden, straw color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy, white head when I got it. Nice stream of bubbles at many spots from the bottom of the glass. Sporadic, uneven lacing on the sides of the glass. Bad-to-below average retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled banana, cloves, tropical hops, floral hops, light green apple, green grape, kiwi and melon, but overall tough to whiff. (Smell - 3.50)
Taste was much more flavorful, reminding me of a Belgian IPA or a strong saison. Got boozy cloves, banana, Belgian spices, lemon Citra hops, floral hops, green grape, tropical notes and melon. (Taste - 3.75)
Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, boozy finish. (Feel - 3.50)
I had some high hopes for this one. Now 0-for-2. (Overall - 3.50)
