A cloudy appearance that is like a darker hefeweizen. Hopefully the absence of much clarity is indicative of lots of wheat and apricot. Mild head, lace and retention. Aroma was plenty apricot. Whether it was a concentrate or not, who knows, the important thing is it was enjoyable aroma wise.
Taste delivered on the apricot as well. The wheat quotient here could have been higher, would have helped with cleaning up some residual sugars/sweetness.
A decent beer from the heart of the Ruby Mountains in Eastern Nevada.

This actually used to be close to the flagship brew for these guys. I think it was the #2 seller behind the amber ale at one time. Pours out a cloudy yellow and orange, the beer certainly has a color reminiscient of an apricot. Doesn't lend itself to much in the way of head, lace or retention, but you can certainly appreciate the color of this one.
Aroma did yield a substantial amount of apricot. Not faint, its substantial, and more than most could handle.
Taste, massive amount of apricot. Made Pyramid's offering seem weak. But it also was very sugary, without much in the way of wheat or barley to offset the residual sweetness. Didn't make the beer terrible, but would have been a nicer addition. The wheat just didn't absorb enough I guess. Definitely an above average apricot beer, but in this roughneck part of the state, fruity apricot ales aren't exactly lighting the world on fire.

never had a ruby mountain brew and since im from nevada i should be ashamed. so i picked up a sixer of one of their new brews. it pours out a cloudy pale sunset. medium sized head that dies down to nothing. aroma is apricot. HUGE apricot. infact ive never smelled a fruit beer or lambic with such a definitive aroma of fruit. in the mouth it is crisp, medium bodied and finishes with a nice carbonation bite. flavor wise it is like the nose, all apricots. some malt is in there, but honestly i think im drinking carbonated apricot juice. tart and tangy, puckering and 100% apricot...ive NEVER had a beer with such a prominate fruit flavor. this is awesome. drinkability is high, but i could see the apricot overload becomming overkill. a true treat and highly recomended for those into fruit beers or someone just looking for something different. i love this stuff.
