Hauling oats is hard work.
Donkeys are motivated by carrots. Here at Tenaya Creek we are motivated by beer. Especially when it has the subtle aroma of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.
It is easy to forget about the long journey ahead when a dark ale with a golden tan head is in hand. So drop the reins, pry open the lid and enjoy the rounded, smooth pull. Take a breath and savor the notes of semi-sweet chocolate and hearty oats.
Your donkey deserves a reward for all its hard work – just don’t share this treat!

Tap pour at the brewery. Served chilled in a nonic glass.
Black colored body, with a wisp of a khaki colored head. Leaves behind wavy strings of lacing.
Aroma of roasted oats, chocolate, and a touch of coffee.
Taste is roasted chocolate oats, cream, and some coffee.
More than medium mouthfeel. Leaves a little sting with each sip. Smooth and creamy. Good carbonation.
Solid for style, and the added bite balances with the creamy sweetness.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is coffee but not over the top. Taste is smooth coffee and a bit bitter. Mouthfeel is okay for an oatmeal stout. It's a coffee stout and it's not bad.
