Collaboration with The Glass Jug Beer Lab

Light and delicate, this saison doesn't overpower. The pear and green tea blend well for a nice tannic bite towards the end of a sip. This is a great beer for the dream of warm weather to come back soon.

A: Pours a relatively clear pale golden yellow in color with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale yellow + straw yellow colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall fizzy foamy bright white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 90% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of slightly spicy saison yeast over the top of pale + wheat malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. Light aromas of slightly earthy green tea + light fruits (pear + green apple).

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of pale + wheat malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of slightly spicy saison yeast. Finally there are light flavors of slightly earthy green tea + light fruits (pear + green apple). No discernible hop presence and minimal amounts of bitterness but there is a slight lingering saison yeast flavor.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp initially with a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable and interesting with the addition of green tea and pear - subtle but complementary to the base beer flavors + aromas.
