the mad fox saison dry hopped with galaxy hops, brewpub draft
a: cask serving in a nonic pint at the brewpub, the beer is a hazy golden in color, topped with a finger of dense carbonation that retains well
s: yeast heavy saison nose with a heavy dose of pale malt giving a perceived sweetness, the dry hopping imparts a dank citrus aroma with some tropical notes, lots of tealike steeped character, some yeast spice and breadiness, like this
m: carbonation on the low end with a medium body, cask smoothness
t: pale malts impart a moderately sweet honeyed flavor with bready yeast flavors running through, loads of steeped galaxy hop flavor - mostly dank, pulpy citrus, some moderate spice, finishing with a midrange bitterness
o: the standard mad fox saison is a little on the sweet end, and that carries through here - not my favorite way to go with the style but I do like what the galaxy does with it, my clear favorite between the two “funk” experiments sampled
