Ages ago, our dear friend Bim Lafontaine traveled from Japan to brew with us the inaugural batch of Brother Soigné, a collaboration that we continue to produce in the spirit of that visit.
A small portion of a subsequent batch was aged atop raspberry, cherry and northern kiwifruit pomace for nearly 3 months. The result honors both the legacy of that first brew day and the satisfaction of exploration.

750ml bottle, 2019 release, poured into a Half Acre "occult" tulip. Enjoyed on 07.07.19, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a hazy and cloudy pinkish orange color that sports a foamy white head with modest retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is amazing, tropical fruit punch, tart cherry and raspberry with bright kiwi, citrus and mango puree. There is an excellent funkiness to the nose that brings out wildflower and an oaky mustiness with soft dough and mineral water. The flavors are tremendous, bright and jammy fruits, tropical, ripe and super fresh, lots of cherry and raspberry with brighter citrus and mango, funky wildflower brings out a light acidity and tartness and almost a vinous quality while pale dough and mineral water serve as the backbone to this beer. The mouthfeel is great, coating and creamy with a playful zippiness from a medium body that finishes easily with a tart and dry bite.
Verdict: A stunning saison from Grassroots/Hill Farmstead. Bright, delicate and so expressive that all the complexities and nuances get their time to shine as the beer moves through various stages of temperature. A remarkable addition to a packed lineup of world class saisons.

beautiful looking beer. aromas of hay, grassy, lime. palate is brirght and tart fruit notes, cherry jolly rancher, sweet tarts, seedy underripe raspberries, a pleasant barnyard funk, spicy and hay character, kiwi coming through as it warms. very light and crisp, fairly low level of carbonation but it works for the style!
