Type: Draft
Glass: .4L glass
From: Tiger! Tiger! in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $3.00 (w/ progressive key Friday, normally $6.00).
Purchased: April 11, 2014
Consumed: April 11, 2014
Misc.: N/A
Poured a dark brown, mahogany color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan creamy head when I got it. Good-to-above average lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention.
Smelled boozy right away. Also nutty, roasted nuts, unfiltered, toffee, caramel, light cocoa, light chocolate milk and some bitter coffee notes.
Taste was much better than the smell. Got deep, dark chocolate, black coffee, nutty, dark cocoa, caramel, chocolate milk and chocolate syrup.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, slightly bitter finish.
A little all over the place, but I enjoyed this beer. I think. Not often that the taste was the best part for me.
