In the Upper Midwest, they say the only two seasons are Winter and Road Construction. When the opportunity presented itself to combine copious amounts of all the stickiest, haze inducing, oil-laden hops we could find with our buddies at Black Stack, we dove right in and strapped on all our PPE because, ya know, safety porpoises.

Headed over the Windmill Farms to see what new stuff they had and came across this collab between Toppling Goliath and BlackStack, two of my favorite Midwest breweries. Their website called it “In the Upper Midwest, they say the only two seasons are Winter and Road Construction. When the opportunity presented itself to combine copious amounts of all the stickiest, haze inducing, oil-laden hops we could find with our buddies at Black Stack, we dove right in and strapped on all our PPE because, ya know, safety porpoises.” Hops mentioned on their website were Citra, Nelson, Sabro, Galaxy and Simcoe. Damn. That’s a great hop combo.
Poured a light golden hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of rocky white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled big Sabro, coconut, tangerine, orange creamsicle, cedar, Galaxy, passion fruit, peach, mint, Citra, Nelson, grapefruit, pineapple, papaya and mango. Even a little better from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order big Sabro, coconut, tangerine, orange creamsicle, cedar, Galaxy, passion fruit, peach, mint, Citra, grapefruit, pineapple, Nelson, papaya, mango and pine. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an excellent hazy DIPA, which is what I would expect from these two breweries. (Overall - 4.25)

Cloudy golden haze. Floral and herbal. Citrus and big orange flesh aroma going on that translates reasonably well to the taste. Medium astringent herbal bite. Similar profile to Ruse DIPAs. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours a hazy dark yellow with soapy head.
Smell is juicy and sweet with notes of mango, pineapple, orange juice and sorbet.
Taste is juicy, sweet and quite crisp. Notes of pineapple, mango, melon, orange juice and sorbet. Soft bitterness with a hint of booze.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.
Overall, another very nice hybrid by Toppling Goliath.

From the first taste, I knew this was a special brew. I am a huge fan of King Sue and I think this is Sue's cousin. Hazy yellow color with a pineapplely / grapefruit citrus taste. A creamy feel in the mouth. I highly recommend.
