Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 30, 2021
Consumed: Dec. 4, 2021
Misc.: Collab with WeldWerks; Canned on Oct. 15, 2021 at 7:37 a.m. CT; Best by Feb. 12, 2021
Grabbed a can of this while waiting for a sandwich at Windmill Farms. Didn’t realize until later that it was a collab with WeldWerks. Untappd description was “Let’s rap about flair for a moment, gang. Flair is not about doing the minimum, it’s about expressing yourself. It’s about fun. You can get a beer just about anywhere these days, but when we get together with our convivial pals at WeldWerks to kung fu some brew, you don’t just get a hop-saturated hazer, you get two breweries at the same time! Now, we don’t want to jump to conclusions, but you want to express yourself, don’t you?” Later saw that the hops mentioned were Citra, Idaho 7, Talus and Cashmere.
Poured a medium golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class layered lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled pineapple, peach, apricot, stone fruit, grapefruit rind, mango, herbal, green vegetable, lime and lemon. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted about as good as the nose. This was an interesting beer. Lots of peach/stone fruit notes mixed with herbal/tea notes. In order got pineapple, peach, apricot, stone fruit, grapefruit rind, mango, herbal, tea, green vegetable, lime, lemon, citrus pulp and papaya. For mentioned hops, got all four in order Talus, Idaho 7, Cashmere and Citra. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just an excellent hazy DIPA. Would like to have this again. No surprise considering the collaborators. (Overall - 4.25)

From a 16 oz. can with a BB date of 2/12/22. Sampled Feb 9, 2022.
The appearance is a pulpy looking orange-amber with an off-white head.
The aroma is cereal grain. Vaguely. Orange and tropical fruit for sure. That is how these IPAs go.
The mouthfeel is about medium with a creamy sense in between
The taste is sweet with a cleansing cleaning grain character. Grass. Not unique but really a part of the modern IPA fanclub.

is there a beer tasting class I could take. I hand another Goliath that was better than this delicioius West Coast Style IPA.
And this is good. I like the Office Space Jennifer anniston reference, I am a little buzzed, went back and got the can and got the joke! Nice. A very good beer. I suppose I should start pouring them into a glass pint glass. Heady Topper sez not to do it, why would I do it for any IPA?

The pour is a cloudy lemonade. The head is fluffy and white with lots of lace. The smell is citrus but not one distinct overall smell. The taste is nice, not bitter at all and also not too much acid. It has a little of the IPA bite and some pine on the back end. The feel is much thicker than expected and leaves a nice coating behind. Overall this is a nice beer.
I do think this is a fun beer with the label's reference to Office Space, the collab with Weldworks, and the 4 different unique hops (Idaho 7, Citra, Talus, and Cashmere). However, its just a lot going on that not one thing shines through. So, fun to buy and try.

16 fl oz pull-tab can served into a fancy beer glass (I think it's called something like Rastal Mastercraft or some other such marketing jargon hullabaloo):
I like the hop profile but don't love it. Feels like a mismatch of more classic citrusy hops and some of these new hipster hops that all the kids are into these days.
