This killer stout explodes with notes of bourbon-laden chocolate truffles and is packed with the rich flavor of roasted coconut and pecans, and finishes with decadent vanilla that washes over your palette.

Nice easy drinking, smooth mouthfeel with a mild chocolate, coconut & vanilla taste. You don't really notice the ABV, and it is almost too sweet. Almost excellent Imperial Stout.

On tap at Beermongers today. Part of the de Garde anniversary remnants event.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention, but very light lacing. This is a viscous looking bba stout. On the nose, this smells pretty sweet. There's considerable vanilla, milk chocolate and light coffee. Others have mentioned a pronounced bourbon aroma, but I'm not getting that today. There's definitely a bourbon presence on the nose, but it's overshadowed by the vanilla and chocolate. The flavor profile replicates the nose, with the pecans imparting an interesting extra layer of flavor. This is pretty tasty, no doubt. Mouthfeel is pretty full and almost thick, but I feel like the sweetness is just too much. It really impacts this beer's drinkability, which isn't all that great. A little bit goes a long way. Even so, the alcohol is pretty well integrated into the flavor profile, though you can tell its up there.
Very good beer for sure, but the accolades this beer gets... I'm just not seeing it. Regardless, this is still a very well crafted beer from the talented folks at Toppling Goliath.

On tap at Toppling Goliath at 2024 Assassin release. I love the coconut, vanilla and nut blend and especially enjoy the thickness that doesn't come with many TG beers. Excellent!

Definitely the oiliest Assassin surface I've seen, it's got little specks of lipids, while the body's muddy color is a touch lighter than typical, with burnt brown edges.
A pretty decadent nose of financier translates to a much sweeter, thicker palate than any Assassin I've had, even exhibiting Werther's over coconut.
It doesn't seem like Toppling Goliath at all, but some Florida-California pastry shit. It's not bad, but after having both regular and double barrel Assassin, I personally hold this a rung below, as the barrel is fairly heavily doused out here.
