Bringing a sense of calm to the chaos, Toppling Goliath gives their Term Oil stout a mellow taste and soothing texture with the generous additions of vanilla bean.
Jet black and inky in its consistency and brandy-like clinging to the glass, Term Oil Vanilla Bean struggles with froth but its rather still and capless appearance yields a sultry, decadent scent of brownie batter, coffee, caramel, whisky and cream. Malty sweet to taste, the flavors of espresso roast are balanced with toffee, brown sugar, sweet cream, vanilla, dark chocolate and candied nuttiness. Chocolate covered espresso bean meets cake batter until the warmth of whisky provides a booze soaked oak spice layered with caramel and coconut.
Full bodied, softly cloying and treated like dessert elixir, the dark ale is a velvety and sweeter version of the oil that's sure to delight the sweet tooths out there.

Pours oily black with nearly no head. Aroma is bourbon, wood, malt and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, malt and a bit of vanilla at the very end. Mouthfeel is thick, sweet and oozes danger. Of the Term Oils I've had, this is by far the best.

Excessive!
A bit too sweet but worth at least one pour, cause folks don’t always agree with ky opinions.
S - vanilla but not as sweet as the taste.
A - it almost looks like oil. Black, opaque with red highlights. No head. Viscous.
T - start to finish is dramatic. Starts smooth, than the ABV arrives but is quickly attenuated by the sweetness.
MF - heavy, almost cloying, coating, warming

Toppling Goliath Vanilla Bean Term Oil BBA Imperial Stout, 14.5% ABV. Pours thick as oil, black, with a ring of brown bubbles. Aroma is brownie batter, vanilla, and bourbon. Taste is strong semi-sweet chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla, slightly sweet, moderately bitter, slight bourbon burn. Thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall world-class.

Good stout. Very good stout. Vanilla, bourbon, cake batter and chocolate. All the usual suspects in a high quality stout.
Without a doubt, delicious, however in a world of premium, high-dollar stouts this one might be a one and done.
Again, nothing wrong at all with this beauty, but at about $2 an ounce might be some others I would buy over this.
