Pours a vibrant and alive golden colour, with a crackling head of white that leaves, intricate, complex and confusing lace. Body is pleasantly heavy, leaving very fine carbonation in its wake. All in all, it's a great looking beer.

Nose is less exciting than I expected, given the funk of Saison and the Nelson Sauvin in its genesis. Slight appleskin characters to it, with a touch of acidity, along with a slightly buttery smoothness and some mild spice. It's all extremely subdued, however, leaving a rather mild blandness as the overall experience.

Taste is similar, but you do have to appreciate that smoothness, as it gives a silky feel to the beer, and a refined note of vanilla. Still, there's very little note of the hops, the spice, the funk, the acidity I expected, and that's a long list of missing characters. What's left is a vague, generic Belgian character, which is pleasant and bright and drinkable, but missing much in terms of complexity and uniqueness.

I don't know. I expected more from a special release from Yeastie Boys. This is no doubt a decent beer brewed well, but I wanted a bit more edge, a bit more attitude. It ends up decent, but less than exciting.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by Søren's 8 Wired Saison Sauvin, which was a much superior brew in the style.

Slightly hazy golden colour with a big, creamy, off-white head. Good head retention.

Spicy and soapy with some esters. There is also lots of tropical fruit notes from the hops. Nice.

A bright, hoppy saison with lots of sweet, juicy New Zealand hops. With a relatively low bitterness, the hops work nicely and integrate into what is basically an APA with Saison yeast. Excellent.

Medium body with moderately-low carbonation. Surprisingly silky for the style.

A very nice beer and a wonderful Kiwi combination of Belgian flavour and fruity hops. This works really well and much better than the 8wired Saison Sauvin which sought to do the same thing.

Golden orange, close to translucent (on the first pour at least), capped by a sizable white, typically Belgian-looking head. Good lacing.

Quite strong lactic notes and a sharp organic funk. Pungent stuff. Underneath is bitter citrus pith, floral spice and a hint of sweet esters. In your face with a lot going on. Only issue is the lactic character verges on turning my stomach.

More citric sourness and a bit less lactic character. Grapefruit and lemon rind are prominent, as is the Nelson Sauvin vegetative character, which kind of adheres to the yeast and barnyard funk. Tropical melons and honey provide some sweetness. Decent peppery tang.

Medium, lightly syrupy body with lowish carbonation and a moderately tart, dry finish that has some length to it.

Incomparable to anything I've tried. The Sauvin hops with the Saison yeast is a masterful combination, however there's no shortage of rough edges, which prevents an amazing or highly drinkable result.

Pours a crystal clear golden hue with nice carbonation that leaves behind a frothy two finger head and clingy lacing here and there,the smell is definately out there with aromas of spicy herbal hops,peppercorns,rye and barnyard funk,the mouthfeel is sticky and just under medium bodied and has tastes of spicy herbal hops which i find really dominant followed by some boiled candy,abit of barnyard must,light toffee and finished off with that dominant spicy herbal hop finish and overall i really was expecting more especially from these boys but in saying that its drinkable but just abit XXXY for what it is cheers.
