Apr 2018 on tap at the Harp. Always hard to decide whether to make a new entry for these or not. This is a 6.6% version of a Kernel Chinook IPA and is likely a different beer than what is rated here. However, there are already so many Kernel varieties that it seems silly to make multiples for the same hop blend.
Pours hazy pale peach gold with a smallish head that leaves just spotty lace. The nose is fresh citrus, orange, and fruity hops, but isn’t as big as some Kernel IPAs. Taste reminds me of that old Orangina drink (not sure if that’s the right spelling or if it exists any more). Quite juicy with that pronounced orange character. Overall, a typical (excellent) Kernel IPA.

L: Cloudy, dark yellow/orange. Thin head leaves some lacing.

S: Spicy. Citrus. Like a pomander ball.

T: Less citrus, more pine on the tongue.

F: Robust, rich mouthfeel. Good level of bitterness. Dry. Alcohol is kept in the background.

O: Despite the generous level of hops, an understated and highly drinkable IPA. Verging on dangerous given the 7.1% ABV.

Oddbins, London Bridge Station, August 2012

A: Natural, cloudy orange. Moderate to low head.

S: Nose is light, crisp citrus and spicy hops.

F: Flavor is clean, clear light malt with a solid resinous hop flavor dominated by tropical, tasty fruits.

M: Zippy, with moderate carb and some tooth-strippiness.

O: Very nice IPA. Love the single hop approach they are taking here.

Pours hazy dark golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of grapefruit and piney hops, fresh and inviting. Taste is crisp clean grapefruit, pine and mango
