A 330ml bottle with a BB of May 2014, so it's rather out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Stored well and hopefully still in good nick.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A very hazy golden hue with plentiful floating sediment and light carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of bright, fruity hops with hints of lime, citrus, white grape, melon, grass/hay, mild tropical fruit, earthy yeast, grainy malt and faint stewed hops. Lovely.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, citrus, white grape, melon, grass/hay, subtle spice, hints of tropical fruit, earthy yeast, delicate malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body for the style. Hop oils tickle the palate. Could be a shade livelier. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, grapefruit and earthy yeast.
O: Tasty - another superlative IPA from the Kernel. Looks alright, with a fantastic aroma and a hop-laden flavour that satisfies the senses. Decent body; could be a tad more carbonated. A treat, as Kernel brews so often are. Well worth sampling if you chance across it.
