A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2014, so it's a little out of date. Acquired a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Bring on the hops!
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A hazy orange-amber hue with plentiful fine sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of white grape, melon, mild clementine, citrus, subtle tropical fruit, faint gooseberry, grass, light caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. The hop character reminds me vaguely of Chewits. Lovely.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of white grape, melon, subtle grapefruit, clementine, citrus, mild tropical fruit, grainy malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a strident hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Hop oils tantalise the palate. Rather astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, fruity notes, earthy yeast and light malt.
O: Another superlative brew from Kernel - always striving for perfection. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are a fantastic mix of fruity hop notes, subtle malt and yeast. Body is great. A delight for the senses - goes down a treat. Well worth sampling if you chance across it.
