330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£3.20):
This one was a very long overdue beer from The Kernel for me & one that was well worth the wait in trying, my first in over a year from the brewery & one that was loaded with hop bitterness & full of flavour. Opening with a great combination of pine & tropical fruits bitterness, there was some sweet caramel & touches of spice in there too that kept things well balanced & enjoyable. I also appreciated the slightly warming finish thanks to the faint touches of alcohol that featured as well. Excellent stuff as always from The Kernel that's got me looking forward to my next new one from them already; & I won't be leaving it as long this time.

L: Murky, pale brown with an orange hue. Thin head with decent retention. In all honesty, not much to look at.
S: Massive spice and citrus nose. Cinnamon and new leather with orange blossom in the background.
T: Floral and citrus at first then bitter, bitter, bitter. No hint of alcohol.
F: On the light end of medium bodied. Very drying. Astringent. Low carbonation. A bit watery.
O: I understand the experimental nature but this one doesn't work for me. Not refreshing, but also not sufficiently interesting. Looks a bit dank and murky, tastes the same. Smells fab though.
