i have to confess that i am only mostly sure this was cascade centennial, there is a small chance it also included citra, and read cascade citra centennial, but i believe it to be the former, and am sure this exists, hate when my notes are fuzzy. in any event, this is easily the most american of the pales i have had, more bitter and citrus forward than many of the others, less delicate and less interesting than some of the experimental and new hop editions of it, which is not to say it isnt delicious, because it is, just a little more samey to my american palate. it also doesnt seem to taste quite as fresh for whatever reason. looks like all the others, nice head on it and a mostly clear pale color. aroma and flavor show bitter orange and grapefruit with a little spice, not over the top on the dosage, but these are intense and distinct varietals that tread over the delicate grain a little bit, at least compared with their other pale variants. if there is in fact citra in this too, its way behind these other two for my palate. more bitterness at the end too, still dry, maybe a little more residual hop oil. this is modern pale ale, would fit in well in the states, but didnt quite strike me like the less conventionally hopped ones did...
