Our unfiltered Munich-style dark lager is hopped with traditional German Tettnanger hops and has a rich medium body and wonderful malt character, great for autumn evenings.

Pint in The Kernel, Spa Road (£6.90):
Dark ruby, a thin tan lacing on top & opaque. Malty bitterness, a little chocolate with a subtle sweetness, some sugars then faint smoked notes. The taste is balanced & chocolaty, good sweet malts & an earthy finish; a solid dunkel.

330 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.4%. Beautiful and clear chestnut colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts (some of it lightly roasted), brown bread, burnt breadcrumbs, some caramel. The flavour is not too sweet, but has the same elements as the aroma, and more bittering hops than your average dunkel.

330ml bottle.
L: Clear, mahogany colour with clouds of carbonation and a two fingers of long-lasting, foaming, off-white head that leaves sheets of lacing.
S: Treacle and smoky, roasted grain.
T: Brown bread, sweet fruit loaf and lightly charred malt.
F: Light body, some foaming carbonation, bone dry.
O: I don’t know this style very well so I don’t know how representative of the style this particular beer is. It’s malty, roasty and nicely smooth, and looks and smells fabulous.
