Our love for dark beers at the Kernel led to this beer, a 'Double IPA' of Porters. Our largest hop bill goes into making this intense and rich beer; our EIP turned up to 11. The dry hop brightens the heavy roast flavours, and the bitterness stays with you well after you have finished sipping.

Copenhagen 30/6 2023. 33 cl bottle from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. The Kernel's usual rough cardboard-look label design.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a huge beige head. Stable. Settles thin but unbroken layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, earthy, sweet odor mingling with a more subtle tart and citric scent. Sweet toffee, plum and caramel. Brown sugar. Roasted malts. Grapefruit and lemon.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, gentle, slightly viscous, smooth, lightly tingling texture.'
Flavor is intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
An elegant and intense piece of Heaven.
