Appearance: The head rapidly overpoured on this one after a fairly sedate pour and needed to be trimmed off a bit which is a bit of a bummer, but after cutting it to a manageable three fingers, it produced some minor lace but retained incredibly well. The body is a nice cloudy brown showing ample carbonation.
Smell: Banana is certainly dominant on the nose as caramel malt comes a bit more into play as the beer warms up with slight touches of clove and bubblegum near the end. Great potency at pour that improves as the beer warms up. Could be a bit more varied though.
Taste: Potent nicely roasted wheat malt that comes across as a banana fritter with a slight caramel note that turns more into a nut and maybe a wisp of chocolate sugarless banana bread touch before we wrap things up with a touch of clove spice and mild earth bitterness that nicely finishes us off.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation is glorious here, it's soft and sudsy which keeps things bright and pleasant, the transitioning is great and the mild bread and banana (although I wouldn't call it banana bread) is great too. That said, it does leave a bit of a dryness to encourage you to drink more and the absurd head needed to be curbed to get the full 5.
Drinkability: Medium bodied, although I do think the carbonation is somehow making it come across as lighter then it is. Settles down very well, which is surprising given the carbonation. Never quite enters into sweet territory, but dances around it leaving this to be certainly a summer drinker, which given the high ABV it conceals perfectly, might be a bit dangerous.
Final Thoughts: Victorious indeed, as this was an excellent offering that did a great job at offering a great wheat experience. You would think given the color it might be a bit sweeter, and I think that is what may be needed to push this beer over the top or ruin it. Regardless, even without it, it was genuinely great experience and would happily buy again if available. Thumbs up.

Moon Under Water Brewpub's 'The Victorious Weizenbock' @ 8.2% , originally tried at the recent The Island Beer Fest on tap , this review served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $7
A-pour is a clear dark brown with a tan head that is leaving minimal lace along the weizen glass
S-fruity hops , spicey clove , and bubblegum
T-Canadian wheat , Munich chocolate malts , some spiceness
MF-mild carbonation , full bodied , a very warming beer ,
Ov-ok/good beer , big ABV helps-or-hinders this beer , hmm still looking for my beer from Moon Under Water
sampled alongside 2 other MUW beers & 4 G. Schneider beers
