Batch 84 A collaboration with The Derby Dolls. This recipe includes 2 row and biscuit malts. Kettle and Whirlpool hops include Merkur, Calypso, and Falconer Flight. We then finished it off with Merkur, Calypso, and Falconer Flight for the dry hopping.

Misc.: Canned on April 26, 2018; Collab with The Derby Girls
Picked this up from Trader Joe's. Still not a Mike Hess fan (the beer, not the man), but lately have been enjoying this Solis series. Gave the #64 a 3.92 in March 2017, #76 a 3.70 in October 2017, #79 a 3.88 in January 2018 and #81 a 3.67 in February 2018. Looked at the back of the can of this one on a recent trip to Trader Joe’s. The website read, “A collaboration with The Derby Dolls. This recipe includes 2 row and biscuit malts. Kettle and Whirlpool hops include Merkur, Calypso, and Falconer Flight. We then finished it off with Merkur, Calypso, and Falconer Flight for the dry hopping.” Man, had tried Falconer Flight, had heard of Calypso (but no idea what it was) and never heard of Merkur. This one would be interesting. P.S. What the hell are The Derby Girls?
Poured a gold semi-clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Some bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled tangerine, orange zest, orange tooth polish, pear, caramel malt, orange blossom, grapefruit and light pineapple. More flavorful from the can with tangerine, pear and pineapple leading the way. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted somewhat different than the nose. In order got toffee, caramel, mint, light licorice, dry orange peel, red grapefruit and apricot. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Apparently I don’t like these hops at all. Not sure I could drink more than one of these. (Overall - 3.50)
