On tap at Hess Brewing in San Diego, CA.
Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with brown sugar and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is hoppy but quite sweet.

Draft into a snifter glass on Oct. 18, 2012 at Urbn Pizza in North Park (San Diego, Calif.) for $6. Caramel brown, iced tea and tan with khaki head. Great retention all-around.
Smelled citrus hops up front, but a good balance overall. Also got pine and a slight rye whiff.
Tasted thicker than I thought it would. Earthy, malty, citrus and strong with a big alcohol bite.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish.
A pretty decent beer overall. Wish it would be around longer.
