From a bottle, a dark pour with a thin head and lacing. The aroma and flavor are somewhat weak, although there is a somewhat robust undertone to the flavor. It is an interesting and enjoyable bitterness of the roasted malt. There are subtle caramel, toffee, cocoa and charcoal notes accompanying.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a fairly dry finish.

Copenhagen 3/11 2022. 50 cl can from N'Bro Kiosken, Nørrebrogade, Kbh. N. A pretty bad rendering of Iron Maidens mascot Eddie dressed up as a undertaker.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a big, creamy beige head. Stable. Settles as thin, but unbroken layer of foam. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense but gets stronger as the beer warms up. Dark roasted malts, toffee and caramel. Subtle notes of sour berries.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, creamy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Truly a strange name for a more tha decent Stout. They should have considered making a Wit.

500 ml bottle poured into a nonic pint glass.
L: Clear dark brown, 2” tan head, good retention, leaves quite a bit of lace.
S: Weak nose, mineral, light chocolate malt.
T: Light roast and chocolate malt, not sweet, woody/floral hops, moderately bitter, overall English flavor.
F: Light-ish body, somewhat crisp, clean feel.
O: Decent, straightforward and light, easy drinker, low ABV is a plus.

Bought at the local discount supermarket for a bit over one euro.
500ml can and an homage to the legendary Iron Maiden album on the label.
Good stout that drinks very well, low ABV and fairly cheap. Worth a try.

500 mL can from the LCBO; best before Jun 2023 and served barely chilled.
Pours a deep brown-black colour with crimson red highlights, producing more than two fingers of rocky, foamy beige head that recedes within five minutes or so. Beautiful webby lacing adheres to the glass, with a generously frothy collar and cap sticking around for some time - looks mouth-watering to me. Leafy, earthy hops, toffee and roasted malts comprise the aroma, alongside subtle hints of cocoa and coffee.
Mild, balanced flavours - cocoa and toffee at first, followed by roasted grains, leafy hops and hints of coffee and dark chocolate on the back end. Slight metallicity into the aftertaste, which is roasty and a touch ashy. Light in body, with light carbonation that gently brushes against the tongue; feels smooth, maybe a little thin - then again, it's only 4.5%, so I can't fuss too much. Excellent drinkability - I could easily pound back a few of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.66, a B grade. Fear of the Dark is a competently brewed stout that I had no real problems with - hey, that's actually exactly how I've felt about all of these Trooper beers so far! Fairly plain, even for a session stout, but at $3.00 (CAD) per can, it is surprisingly affordable for an imported beer. I might prefer their Red 'n' Black porter, but the differences are minor enough that I think either one would be a good substitute for the other.

I like the bottle label artwork, great use of color. The pour is black with a thick & frothy head of foam. The taste is rich roasted malt, black strap molasses, & dark bakers chocolate. Cheers! A-

Dark stoutish look. Slightly powerful roasted malt scent. Very thin and cola-ish. And weirdly, the more I drink this, the less I taste. Usually it's the other way around. It's bitter and tastes like old coffee grounds and 40oz'er. I'm glad it was on sale

500 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase
Appearance - Dark brown with reddish hue, two plus fingers of long lasting head and just light enough that you tell there is good clarity.
Smell - General earthy and roasted notes, not a whole lot beyond that.
Taste - Light caramel sweetness, watery roasty flavors in the background and just a hint of sugar. Occasionally some bitter and nearly metallic flavor.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, a touch watery but good enough feel.
Overall - Decent enough stout, and easy brew to keep drinking due to sessionability, but nothing else to stand out.

Nice artwork on the 16.9 oz bottle, nice to know Eddie likes a pint. Poured fridge chilled into the Official Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark pint glass.
Look is dark brown with a fine frothy tan head that lasts.
Aroma is rich roasty malt, perhaps a wave of coffee, toffee.
Taste is familiar; brain goes porter, light cacao, definately a British beer.
Feel is smooth but light with plenty of fizz.
Overall, I have a hard time calling this a Stout because of the thin body - bet it’s great on cask! Got fresh and enjoyable.
No fear of this Dark.,.
