6/27/17...pours a mustard brown yellow, looking like a gelatinous mixture. Light banana clove nose, subtle. Strong wheat taste. Heavy banana flavors. Smooth, and with the clove in the finishing bite. Solid.

my first beer from these guys, down at their more southern location, its a very well made and quite traditional example of hefeweizen. a little yellow and brighter than some, maybe not quite so thick and creamy, but with a pure white head several inches tall and holding nicely, although it doesnt take me very long to put back a pint of this one. fresh sliced slightly under ripe banana from the yeast in the nose, green and clean, very bright. there is also some lemon creaminess in here, with a nice fresh wheaty cereal grain base, more delicate than some, but plenty flavorful. the yeast is the star, highly attenuated brew, very for the style, and a little less pulpy than some of the more rugged old world ones. super easy drinking, but also rather satisfying. it doesnt look like these guys get a whole lot of love here on BA, but this was awesome, medal worthy in a lot of respects, and i think it deserves more credit. in fact, i liked all the beers i had here, and am surprised they havent gotten more notoriety. based on this hefe, it would certainly be well founded. perhaps the best traditional wheat beer in the springs right now...
