Pitch black, balanced mouthfeel. Reminiscent of coffee without being vulgar. Would definitely recommend. Not super heavy.

6/27...black pour and a tan ring of foam. Thins on top. Rich roasted nose, coffee/espresso blend. Smooth mouthfeel, coffee flavors. Lighter mouthfeel, low carbs, almost milky. Good closer.

i think in general these guys are really underrated. they do a nice job across a range of styles, and i just dont think they get enough credit for making good beer. this stout, while a little basic in terms of recipe and flavor profile, is really well done as they go. its got a great mix of the roasted unmalted barley on the low bitter end, and the sweeter more brown ale chocolate malt bent, really the best of both worlds, not too light, not too heavy. dark chocolate notes in here, hints of raisin as well, maybe some oats in the mash too, there is a frothy thicker body to this, and perhaps just a little too much residual sugar. very true to style though, and it is carbonated nicely, very drinkable, and a perfectly appropriate morning beer. the vibe in here is a little ritzy, ski lodge type feel, but they beer they make is quality more often than not. i think a coffee version of this would make a lot of sense, it has all the complimentary flavors already, and a little earthy coffee roast quality would take it to the next level...

Black as night with a minimal brown head and lace that was so-so, but overall it was quite American Stout-y.
Roasty and toasty with a tinge of burnt and some coffee/chocolate.
Body is pretty thick, carbonation slightly higher than expected, but within parameters.
Overall a tasty stout from a great place to visit.
