This one is not Raul’s cup of tea. Nor his cup of joe, kombucha, or any damn thing that one could throw in a cup. Radishes? Sure. And Raul likes himself some radish (with salt and lime of course). Damn thing is just to herbal and vegetal - so much so that it might give Bugs Bunny a stiffy. What’s up, doc?

really great west coast IPA. feel and overall quality are great. look and smell are alright but not very notable. taste is incredibly balanced - little hazy, little dank, smooth, touch of sap.

With hoppy beer running around like a cat trying to chase its tail, Brouwerij West creates a classic "West-Coast" IPA that focuses on bitterness and dryness to have all that cool hop-lovin' cats crawling.
Backed with the success of Citra, Mosaic and Centennial hops, new meets old with their Bounce IPA that pours with a faint haze, teeming bubbles and a medium golden-chrome appearance. As the bubbled build a stark white froth, an herbal, fruity and grassy scent forms with a tropical, citrus and botanical perfume. A mild mannered sweetness of honeysuckle, wafer and granola-like grain greets the palate in subtle malty support.
With the carbonation carrying off the sweetness, the hops build on the middle palate with a host of grapefruit, orange and a pep of lemon to start. Not to be overshadowed, a tropical contingency of pineapple, mango and papaya all come in dried form. Trending swiftly bitter, dry and refreshing, the late palate soon favors a taste of fresh spruce, spicy tea, hemp and citrus peel.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the beer simply bounces off of the palate with a dry and herbal finish filled with essence of fruit and a long extension of resinous bitterness to close.

Color is the typical amber and head was near impossible to create, and what was created disappeared quickly. Nose was slightly floral. Taste was rather unimpressive, but not offensive. Decent beer, not great, but decent.

Type: 16-oz. can

Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $3.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 9, 2020
Consumed: July 23, 2020
Misc.: Canned on June 25, 2020
Spent way too much at Windmill Farms and then at North Park Beer Company, but happy with my selections. Online description read, “Like a true wildcat, our newest West Coast IPA leaps from tastebud to tastebud with ferocious notes of grapefruit, pine, and passionfruit thanks to the dank combination of Citra, Mosaic, and Centennial hops. While not overpoweringly bitter, Bounce IPA maintains an approachability for every type of IPA lover. Dedicated to the Hop Wizards who paved the way for California IPAs.”
Poured an amber clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast-moving bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled more Citra and Centennial than Mosaic to start. Also tea, herbal, pine, red grapefruit, lemon and mixed berry. A little better out of the can with more Mosaic and the addition of mango. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted better than the nose for the most part. In order tea, herbal, bitter pine, sticky resin, red grapefruit, mango, purple grape, mixed berry and lemon peel. For hops, Citra, followed by Centennial and Mosaic, but more Mosaic than the nose. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This one grew on me as it went down. Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)
