Very clear and clean copper body with almost a toasted white head. I realize that might not make the most sense. Think of a marshmallow that has been ever so slightly toasted over flame. That's what color this head is. At least while it sticks around, which isn't terribly long. It quickly thins out to a ring of large, soapy bubbles. Odd. Smells ultra clean, kind of malt-forward, but there's not really a whole lot there. It kind of just smells like a malty macro lager. Mouth is toasted grain and mild malt sweetness up front. Weird bitter hop blast on the very back end. It lingers. Mouthfeel is inching towards full-bodied with a pleasant, not overdone crispness. Really delivers in that department. I don't really know what I'm looking for in an Oktoberfest - I've been largely neutral on the handful I've had this year- and this one isn't helping me figure it out. It's a perfectly fine beer, though; especially with it's sub-$10 price point.

Pours a med froth almost 1 finger head with moderate retention, fair messy lacing, mostly clear slight haze auburn to honey orange color
Nose sweet toasted grainy malts, touch of caramel but mostly the toasted bread crust biscuity grain, soft malt, very faint hint of herbal hop
Taste brings lots more malts up front, cereal grain with a lot of toasted bread crust, biscuity notes, little caramel, semi sweet but not syrupy yet but I can tell it's getting a touch syrupy, light herbal floral hop with med-light bitterness, soft lager, dry finish with med hop bitterness and a touch spicy
Mouth is med bod, med frothy carb, light soft lager
Overall not bad, malt is the start which it should be, nice malt not really syrupy sweet or loaded with caramel, just the right toasted malt character, nice soft lager, good hop character, fairly well done for an American brewery
