Lavery Brewing : ALPHAbet Stew
*collaboration with Full Pint Brewing
LOOK: Deep orange colored beer and perfectly clear. White head forms and leaves some lace behind.
SMELL: Tropical hops and brown sugar. Smells like a pineapple upside down cake and a pine cone.
TASTE: Pine and citrus flavor with a little pineapple, all from choice hops. Toasted, caramel malt body provides good depth and balance. Piney, solid bitterness, great tasting brew. The more I drink it, the more I like it.
FEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated, with a lingering hop flavor. A juicy hop focused ale, and what's not to like.
OVERALL: This is a great IPA. Could make a quality dark IPA offering, perhaps they might continue this, which is originally a collaboration beer for Pittsburgh craft beer week.
