10 oz. on tap at the Portland homebase.
Appearance: Pours a dark, murky ruby with a short cream head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma: Some dark fruit, a little smoke, some herbal character.
Taste: Nice mix of flavors. Smoke is noticeable on the palate. Raisins, dates, caramel. Herbal, slightly bitter finish. Reminds me somewhat of a Scottish ale with some extra zip. Brewer lists it as a "smoked amber with habaneros." Habaneros are noticeable but not overpowering.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Easy on palate for a beer with a busy flavor profile.
Overall: Well done. Hope they bottle it - would make a great spring seasonal.
