500 ml. bottle.
Limited release August, 2018.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a slightly hazy, pinkish-golden body with no lacing. Nose of slight funk, cherry pit, slight cherry, and slight oak. Taste of sour cherry first, then lemon as it warms, with vinous finish. Good feel and overall, a pretty decent brettanomyces sour. Cheers!

The label notes that Mira is a red giant star in the constellation Cetus. It is also a variable star that changes substantially in brightness over 11 months; one can hope the beer is not so variable as its namesake. I have an August 2018 500ml capped bottle. According to the label and their website, the beer is brewed with belgian and brettanomyces yeasts, with cherries and aged in red wine barrels. ABV 7% on the label. Pours with a slight white filmy head that settles down without any lacing. Color is slightly hazy gold with a slight rose red tint. Smell is very nice, fruity and tart and a little winy. Taste is very nice, notes of the cherry and red wine, a little tart and bretty with some sweetness. Feel is very good, light and refreshing. Overall, this is a very good wild beer. The cherries are just a note of flavor and well balanced by the red wine barrel. The brett character is not too pronounced, perhaps because of the only 4 months since it was bottled.
