One of those really dry, nutty brown ales. Smells like chocolate and peppermint. Taste is similar, but also with lot of coffee, tobacco, raisin, and some unidentifiable slightly astringent flavor notes. Pretty complex. I'd prefer a bit more sweetness but it's nice.

Pours slightly hazy brown-red amber orange with a creamy frothy off-white foam head. Smells malty and sweet with some fruity notes, nutty toffee, caramel, toasty bread, amber honey, hints of chocolate, some dried fruit like apricot, mild grapefruit, and some woody earthy minty pine. Tastes like caramel, nutty toffee, toasted bready malts, amber honey, hints of chocolate, dried fruit, apricot, subtle grapefruit, with woody earthy minty pine. Feels lighter medium bodied, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a nice brown ale.
