12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 16.99/ 6 pack. Canned 7/31/17. Served in a Wild Heaven snifter. Enjoyed 8/11/17.
Pours a muted, mostly opaque orange with a half finger of white head. Retention amounts to a fine haze, fluffy halo and only a few specks of lace.
Citrus and tropical hops up front in the aroma. Some light biscuit, zest/ peel, mint and a hint of shaved coconut as it warms.
Flavors of grapefruit, piney mango, coconut skins, orange peel, biscuit, earthy mint and a light nip of alcohol. As the chill subsides stronger notes of fleshy shaved coconut appear, along with mild vanilla and caramel.
Full, oily feel with moderate carbonation. Notes of coconut, citrus, tropical hops and caramel in the finish.
Quite literally a bittersweet farewell to the great Dan Rosen, To Dan is very successful as a collaboration, an imperial IPA and a coconut brew.

Canned 7/31. Kind of hazy gold/orange color with very little foam and some lacing. Smell is sweet coconut with some hoppiness. Taste is a combination of the sweet coconut and a bitter hop with a nice balance between the two. It's very smooth and easily sippable for an 8.5% abv.

Dark straw appearance with slight white head. Aroma is a mild hoppy without the coconut I was anticipated. Taste is a mild hoppy with a slight coconut taste.

Love this beer and I love even more that the brewery decided to brew something to Dan, who was a prominent member of the Atlanta beer community who was tragically killed in hit-and -run. Dan was someone I used to drink with regularly back in the day at bottle shares and special events. He liked big flavors in beers, but could appreciate subtlety. I think he'd really like the balanced nature of this IPA where the hops shine through, there is a substantial body, and a luscious coconut top note. Great job! Here's to Dan!
