We have been getting limited distro from this brewery for a little while & I decided to make them the next horizontal for The CANQuest (tm). I hope that they CANtinue to send their beers our way!
From the CAN: "Happiest Hour Exploration Project - Fauci Spring Açai Pale Ale"; "Pale Ale brewed with Açai and not yet named experimental hops"; "Tasting Notes[:] Tropical, Earthy, Cocoa, Berry".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with very good retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose reminded me of blueberries ... kind of. It was an imprecise blueberry-like quality with a tropical fruitiness, on the sweet side, but like blueberry. Very odd. Mouthfeel was medium, but CANgerously close to thin. The taste was even more kaleidoscopic than when Galaxy hops are used & that is REALLY saying something! It was less blueberry than blackberry-black raspberry with a sweet-tart fruitiness that evoked both equally but at differing stages. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned allowing this beer to warm since it really allowed the fruitiness to blossom & become more apparent. The fruit was definitely the star of the show in this one, but I remain CANurious as to the use of experimental hops. The CAN's label was not forthCANming & the brewery's website did not offer any details in that regard. Finish was dry and earthy and it was at the point of the swallow & its aftertaste that I got the cocoa-like flavor that the Tasting Notes mentioned. Like I said, a VERY kaleidoscopic beer, but stylistically, not really an APA. Once aCAiN, I was left wanting for some bitterness as a hophead. 8=( YMMV.

This is a tasty beverage named in honor of a man who is trying to save us all. It has an appropriate sweetness and a subtle hoppiness, which adds to my happiness. It smells great!

Canned, from brewery, poured into SL tulip.
A - Hazy pale amber. Aggressive pour gives you 3 finger head with fast bubbles that dissipate in under a minute.
S - Earthy, acai, pastry, faint hops, slight orchard vibe (not in a bad way)
T - Surprisingly more witbier-like than an ale. Not sweet, but there's a nice malt balance. Not too complex. Not much pine or resin. Mild hop bitterness. Gives a nice floral/tropical vibe after some time in the glass. Dry finish, ends on a mild hop note. Refreshing.
M - Medium body, low to moderate carbonation.
O - Fun concept. The can listed "experimental hops" and acai. You can sense the acai, but it's not overpowering at all. Earthy notes dominate. Drinks better on the warm side.
