Appearance - From the can, the beer was a deep auburn brown color with light carbonation.
Smell - The barrel really shined in the nose, covering the malts of the base beer.
Taste - This was not for the weak of heart. Rye barrel shined in the initial taste. It was pleasantly boozy with notes of barrel, vanilla, raisin, and malt. Unfortunately, the base beer was smothered. It was not too hot, there was a nice sense of balance.
Mouthfeel - Low carbonation allowed this beer to linger.
Overall - It barely resembled the style, but it was a great beer.
