Review from notes taken Summer 2011:
On-draught @ Bratislavsky Mestiansky Pivovar. 1.40 euro per .3L pour.
HEAD: 2 fingers in height. White colour. Aptly thick. Creamy. Has a decent complexion. Nice even consistency. Pretty good (~5 minute) retention).
BODY: Dark orange-ish copper of below average vibrance. Murky and nontransparent. Semitranslucent. I see no visible yeast/lees within.
Appears adequately carbonated. Not unique or special in appearance.
AROMA: Impressive floral hop character. Pale malts/2-row. Fruity hop aromatics: mango, kiwi, tangerine. Clove. No overt yeasty aromatics, alcohol, or off-notes come through.
A pleasant aroma of moderate intensity. I'm intrigued; this seems to have a lot of hop flavour for a Slovakian beer.
TASTE: Shockingly hoppy for a Slovakian brew, but with those hops comes unwelcome hop bitterness that isn't balanced out by malty sweetness. Fruity in hop character: mango, tangerine, kiwi. Floral hops. Clove. Pale malts. Light 2-row. Clean. Zesty. Fruit dominates.
Pleasant to drink and nicely built, but its imbalance holds it back. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.
Complex for a Slovakian beer, and the fruit (kiwi in particular) lends it interesting nuance. Not subtle or gestalt in build, but it has cohesion of flavour. I do like it.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, well-carbonated, medium-bodied, a bit too thick, crisp, clean. Has a bit too much heft and weight on the palate, but overall this texture suits the taste pretty well.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
OVERALL: Quite drinkable, especially in the sticky Summer heat. I like it and it is the best beer I've tried so far in Slovakia, but compared to the best beers in this style worldwide, it's merely above average. I'd get it again when in Bratislava and would recommend friends do the same, but keep your expectations in check. Not world class, but certainly enjoyable.

Pours a slightly hazy straw with medium head that leaves some lacing. Nose is light grains, maybe a bit of hops in the back...not a lot going on there. As it warms, the smell turns weird. Taste is clean and crisp, but not much aside from a standard Euro lager. There are not any off flavors until it warms...not so good after that. Overall, a beer for when you are pounding them back and not expecting much.
