A blend of Blond ales aged in oak wine barrels for 14 months with fresh apple cider, cinnamon and vanilla bean. Fresh apple and cinnamon flavors lead to a warm vanilla presence and dry, puckery finish.

On tap at Cascade Brewing Barrelhouse in Portland, Oregon.
Pours a light yellow, orange-hued body, half finger white head. Not much retention or lacing. Smells of pie crust, tart apple, cinnamon, allspice, oak, acetic acid. Smells promising, although is overall more of a subtle nose behind the acidity. Flavour comes through, with a nice tart apple, pie crust sweetness, oak, acetic acid, allspice, a mild dose of cinnamon, a slight bit of hay. Pretty tasty and quite an interesting take here. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, crisp and dry; it's got quite a bit of spices and would be difficult to drink a whole bottle solo, if that makes sense. Overall, interesting experiment to make with sour beer, definitely a novelty sour ale that delivers but you don't necessarily want more of it.
