On tap last week. Very dark (must have changed the recipe in last few years) to almost black. Lots of roasted malt aroma, leaving a bitter almost chalky taste, possibly due to the hops as well. Very full bodied beer, one drink leaves you feeling like you just drank a meal. Overall not bad, but I think I'll be trying some of the other Raccoon offerings before heading back to this one.

A dry stout along the lines of Beamish with restrained flavor. Black Snout starts with a soft feather-brown head that doesn’t hold but leaves nice lace. The color is a shade on the brown side – not nearly the opaque black one might expect from the style or the name. There is no discernable aroma to speak of.

Starts well when served cold but doesn’t go far. The finish lacks finesse and the body is somewhat watery. By the time this beer reaches room temperature, you realize it has little to offer.
