Dark brown with a thick, tan uneven collar.
Smell is maple, vanilla, oak, chocolate malt and coconut with no indication of sourness. In other words, delectable.
Completely bourbon-forward oak takes center stage in flavor, while also being quite dry--both attributes are surprisingly present for a sour. Additional notes of tart red wine and some heat still leave room for a nice blending of the maple, vanilla, chocolate and coconut notes I got from the nose, with a thin body and a crisp, light carbonation.
This one was really well done and unique!
