Had this at the barrel house. You can tell this version is a quad way more than the sour version. Pours an amber brownish color with a lighter brownish head in the 1/5" range. Aroma of belgian yeast and bourbon for the most part.
Taste has way more alcoholic heat than anything else besides the quad yeast imparting dark fruit bitterness. I like the blonde base though. Good change. I definitely prefer regular Vlad to this one, bourbonic was a tougher call. This one has major heat, but then everything else is just nuance, which is like, backwards for me preference wise. The Heaven Hill barrel is impactful, but the actual vanilla, oak nuance is way too far gone, and hot alcohol dominates in tandem with raisin bitterness.
Prolly wouldn't bang this one again.
