Copenhagen 16/6 2023. 37,5 cl corkedbottle from DrikBeer web-shop. Yellow label with green veins in Cascade's usual design.

Pours unclear amber with a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is intense with sweet fruity odor mingling with prominent herbal notes. Bitter, tart citrus notes. Juniper, lavender and thyme. Oranges, citrus and tart gooseberries. Acerbic.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intensewith a moderate sweetness soon overpowered by strong acerbic tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour with herbal touch. Lingers for a while. A bit searing. Finish is dry.

Quite botanical and acerbic.

Appearance: Pours clear and golden colored with a one finger head; excellent retention and splashes of lace

Smell: Complex floral aromatics with a very acetic tone; orange peel, oak and a hint of juniper along with a strong lemon element

Taste: Very floral, up front, with the acetic aspect building right to the finish; bitter lemon and juniper dominate from the mid-point on; dry and oaky, along with the acidity

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation; quite puckery

Overall: When the Cascade brewers hit their stride they come up with creations that very few other sour brewers can match; not sure why this is listed as a Gose but there is a salty aspect to the finish that may be due to the power of suggestion

App- luminous brass, crystal clear, low persistent head with sheet lacing, really attractive.
Aroma - clover flowers, babys breath, lemoncello, hey, rhubarb, raspberry, strawberry, white grape, dough, btreadcrust, pickled watermelon rhind, light hop spice, huge hit of ginger and rose, slight whiff of juniper. Definitely a sour aroma but extremely complex and inviting.

Flavor- rich malty sweetness that is well above expectations, nice subtle ale fruitiness underneath, get a decenthit pforange rhind, watermellons back, goes floral for a brief moment, a little vanilla and cinnamon, slight whiff of pine in finish. rose comes out with warmth. Acidity is soft and noticeable but doesn't tip the balance away from sweet. This is more sweet than sour, but only slightly.

MF - Really nice, medium full, velvety, creamy, then lightly astringent in the finish. Medium - low carbonation

Overall - definitely the best high abv sour Ive ever had. A massive improvement over the early beers i tried from this brewery. Really excellent sour with nice balance that is pleasant to drink and actually has the taste of its extra ingredients. Wish Id bought more to cellar. Will buy this on site in the future.appreciate the serving size. (8.5 oz can)

ive gotta to the point with cascade now where my nose can identify their beer from across the room, and this one is no different, that mix of high tone acidity with a vinegar twang to it and old oak hits similarly in so many of their beers regardless of what else they do to them. this one is spiked with gin botanicals among other unique herbal ingredients, and the beer is complex and delicious, but fundamentally its very cascade, a stronger fuller bodied slightly funky and very sour pale base beer with all the wooden maturity in the world, this maybe a touch maltier than some other recent offerings, but fits right in. i get more spruce than i do juniper, but i also get black pepper, dried orange peel, tea, jasmine or something floral like that, and curiously an almost salty element too, white wine among the woodiness, and maybe some lime at the end too, really dynamic and it changes as it warms. not too sour to drink, hides its alcohol strength well as most of them do, and is a super interesting food beer, i had artichoke tacos with this and though it excellent, also spicy fried potatoes seemed to work well, versatile in that regard for a beer so flavorful. gin cocktail-esque, but plenty beery too, which these guys always remember to prioritize. really neat offering eith some botanical bitterness at the finish and a very complex aftertaste, slight menthol and oily citrus. cascade has been on a serious roll lately!

Look: Pours a deep burnt orange. Not much of a head on it.
Smell: A really pleasant tart aroma.
Taste: Sour with a fair amount of citrus (a lot of grapefruit), juniper and other floral flavors. Very complex as different tastes hit you at different times.
Feel: A bit of carbonation, but in good amounts. Pretty smooth.
Overall: Overall, a solid sour. Really tart and lots of flavor.

L: Shiny blond ale.
S: Elderflower and berries on the nose.
T: There's a start of berries that leads into spices and a citrus body. The tail ends up with berry and a wood finish.
F: Effervescent and clean citrus.
O: A very cheap light sour for any usage
